Welcome and thank you for visiting our website.
The Korea-America Finance Association (KAFA) is a non-profit professional organization established in 1991 with the purpose of encouraging and promoting research, education, and other related activities among finance professors of Korean descent working in colleges and universities in North America.
Today KAFA has grown to a truly diverse and international organization with over 200 members and supporters from not only North America but also Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, and the United Kingdom. Although the Korean-American finance professors are still the majority, its membership now includes researchers, practitioners, doctoral students, and institutional supporters representing diverse origins and locations, yet sharing common interests in finance-related activities in Korea, North America, the Pacific Rim, and other regions.
KAFA's main activity includes organizing and sponsoring academic conferences, seminars, and symposia on important timely issues in financial markets, corporate finance, securities and insurance business, derivatives markets, risk management, and global financial economy in general. KAFA also participates in various programs offered by finance-related institutions in Korea, America, and elsewhere. Its other functions include publications, scholarship supports, information exchanges, and professional development programs.
KAFA always welcomes new members as well as sponsors and contributors (individuals or institutions). As a member or supporter of KAFA, you can participate in KAFA-organized/sponsored events and programs, receive newsletters and other publications, attend its business meetings and banquets, and have access to its other resources and information. If you are interested in becoming a member or making a contribution, or if you just want to have more information about KAFA and its activities, please contact us.
We hope you will take advantage of the resources and activities we offer.
